HOW COACHING WORKS
How I Work with You as a Coach
I believe you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. When you’re playing small, I’ll gently call you out with respect and kindness. If you’re avoiding an issue, I’ll help you face it head-on. My goal as your coach is to help you discover YOUR path and be a catalyst for your personal transformation.
I know you have the creativity, resources, and confidence to move forward. I’ll be your cheerleader, your biggest fan, and your supportive yet challenging coach.
How We Begin
Coaching is a partnership between us. It’s all about trust. Our coaching sessions are 100% confidential, and the more honest you are, the more transformative your journey will be.
According to the International Coach Federation, coaching is “a thought-provoking and creative partnership [inspiring] clients to maximize their personal and professional potential, often unlocking previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.”
In our first session, we’ll design our coaching partnership. We’ll dig into what’s truly important to you, what drives your passion, and what drives you crazy. Most coaching engagements last about six months, but they can be as short as three months or as long as a year or more.
What to Expect
Each coaching session is 50 minutes, and we’ll meet via Zoom. In the first session, we’ll set the focus for your coaching. You’ll fill out a questionnaire and complete a fun exercise beforehand.
At the start of each session, you’ll bring a topic to discuss. If you’re not sure what to talk about, we’ll explore whatever’s on your mind. I’ll ask lots of questions to help you find your own answers.
I’ll make requests to deepen your learning and sometimes challenge you to go beyond what you thought possible. I might give you homework to think about between sessions. Many clients find their “a-ha” moments come between our sessions.
Coaching addresses the whole person. Professional life impacts personal life, and vice versa—they can’t be separated.
Conscious Completion
When we reach the end of our coaching journey, our last session will focus on wrapping up our work and setting you up for continued success. You can decide if you’d like to continue our coaching relationship, work on new areas, or take a break to let everything marinate. It’s entirely up to you.
